New Branding, New Business Cards

After quite a few years of intense silence from Phireworx, I’ve decided to give it a reboot starting with the branding. The rest of the old versions of the site, will be available shortly, inlcuding the following, but not limited to (potentially avaialable with source code):

  • Adobe Fireworks Extensions & Commands
  • Adobe Flash Extensions & Commands
  • Adobe Dreamweaver Extensions & Commands
  • Flash Anthology (PDF), free downloadable of my Flash book from SitePoint

But back to the rebrand, the new business cards are coming tomorrow (and yes they are made from wood!), so here’s a sneak peek at the digital proof. I certainly hope they look as good as this!

Some key features of the new slinky wooden business cards

Cut & etched by laser

Each of our wooden business cards is carved using state of the art CO2 laser-milling machines. We then laser engrave the text and artwork into the surface of the card at an astonishing resolution of 900dpi.

Custom Shaping

Not only can we cut through the wooden business card, we can also alter the shape of the card itself by cutting away wood from the perimeter. And as long as the desired shape fits within the dimensions of a standard card, there is no additional charge.

3MM Strata CONSTRUCTION

To ensure the structural integrity of the card, we use three layers. The outer facing surfaces comprise of real wood veneer. The core is strengthened using a high-density fibreboard. This eliminates any weakness along the grain of the wood and allows us to laser cut intricate patterns without fear of fragility.

Recyclable & biodegradable

As well as being fully recyclable and biodegradable, the veneer and core used when crafting our wooden business cards is sourced from managed forests. And because we use light to etch, rather than ink to print the design, no harmful chemicals are used.
